]]> New Delhi: Delhi Police on Tuesday have detained six people including advocate and former BJP spokesperson Ashwini Upadhyay, in connection with a video showing anti-Muslim slogans were being raised during a protest at Jantar Mantar, officials said on Tuesday.
A senior police officer said that six persons have been detained from different locations of the Delhi-National Capital Region for their roles in connection with the incident, which are under investigation.
In a video, some people were seen raising anti-Muslim slogans during a protest at Jantar Mantar here and it was widely circulated on social media, following which Delhi Police registered a case on Monday.
Hundreds of people had attended the protest organised by Bharat Jodo Aandolan at Jantar Mantar on Sunday.
The protest was held under the leadership of Upadhyay. He, however, denied her involvement in the slogan-shouting incident.
Upadhyay said that he had submitted a complaint before the Delhi police to verify the video and identify the miscreants, involved in the incident.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Deepak Yadav had said on Monday said that they have received a video and the matter is under investigation. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the law.

]]> Srinagar: In a shocking incident, militants shot dead a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) sarpanch and his wife in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, police said.
Deceased sarpanch was also the Kulgam district president of the BJP’s Kisan Morcha.
According to police, the ultras fired on Ghulam Rasool Dar and his wife in Anantnag town in south Kashmir, a police official said adding that both were rushed to a local hospital but there they succumbed to their injuries.
Dar is a resident of Kulgam’s Redwani and was a sarpanch affiliated with the BJP. He had unsuccessfully contested the last year’s District Development Council elections. He was presently living in a rented accommodation in Anantnag.
