Sonia Gandhi questioned by ED for 6 hours, directs to appear again tomorrow

New Delhi: Congress President Sonia Gandhi in a money laundering case related to the National Herald has been questioned the ED for about six hours.

According to sources, the ED has called her again for questioning tomorrow.

Sonia Gandhi, along with her son Rahul Gandhi and daughter Priyanka Gandhi, had reached the ED office at around 11 am in the power lane on APJ Abdul Kalam Road in Delhi. After this, she left the ED office for lunch for about half and then returned around 3.30 pm.

Officials said Priyanka was staying in another room of the ED office so that if needed, she could meet her mother and provide her medicines or medical assistance.

Sonia, 75, was first questioned for over two hours in the case on July 21. He then answered 28 questions from the agency. The Enforcement Directorate is probing alleged financial irregularities in Young Indian Private Limited, which owns the newspaper ‘National Herald’.

In the same case, Rahul Gandhi has also been questioned by the agency for more than 50 hours. The Congress has termed the ED’s action as an act of political vendetta.
