Birmingham: India’s Sanket Mahadev Sagar has opened India’s account by winning a silver medal in the men’s 55 kg weightlifting event at the Commonwealth Games.
Sagar, 21, from Sangli district of Maharastra, was on track to win a gold but missed out on a kilo after failing twice in clean and jerk. He lifted 248 kg (113 and 135 kg) to win the silver medal.
