Resentment among IAS officers over vigilance action against officer, CM seeks report from CS within 24 hours

Chandigarh: There is a lot of resentment among all IAS officers of Punjab due to the action taken by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau. Recently, vigilance has booked IAS Neelima in the industrial plot allotment scam.

For this reason, a delegation of about 50 IAS met Punjab Chief Secretary VK Janjua. The officers expressed displeasure and said that due process was not followed before registering a case against IAS Neelima.

After this controversy, CM Bhagwant Mann has sought a report from the Chief Secretary on the whole matter within 24 hours.

According to sources, IAS officers are meeting with CM Bhagwant Mann. In this, IAS will present its case against vigilance action.

Earlier, PCS officers and their subordinate staff are also on mass leave against the arrest of PCS officer Narender Singh Dhaliwal posted by vigilance Ludhiana Regional Transport Authority (RTA).

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has named 14 senior officials, including former minister Sunder Sham Arora, in connection with a case registered in connection with the allotment and purchase of industrial plots in the state.

A total of 7 IAS and PCS officers of Punjab State Industrial Development Corporation (PSIDC) have also been arrested. IAS and PCS officers are against the action of the state government in protest against this case.

It is alleged that former ministers and officials in connivance first sold plots worth crores of rupees to their loved ones at a low price. Then by selling them at an expensive price, the state government suffered a financial loss of more than Rs 500 crore. At present, the vigilance team is engaged in the investigation.
