Punjab cabinet expansion today; likely to induct 5 MLAs as ministers

Chandigarh: The cabinet expansion of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab will take place on July 4 and five new faces will be inducted in the state government.

The swearing-in ceremony will be held at Raj Bhavan, where the new faces of the cabinet will take oath at 5 pm. The first expansion in the Punjab cabinet headed by chief minister Bhagwant Mann is going to take place after three and a half months. Along with this, there may also be a reshuffle in the departments of many old cabinet.

According to information received from sources, among the five new ministers, the MLA from Sunam, who won for the second time Aman Arora, Inderbir Singh Nijhar, Chetan Singh Jodemajra from Malwa’s Assembly Constituency Samana, Fauja Singh Sarahi, MLA from Assembly Constituency Guru Harsahai and Anmol Gagan Mann from Vidhan Sabha Constituency Mandsaur are said to be almost fixed. However this has not been officially confirmed by the party.

Meanwhile, the announcement of advisers to chief minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is also likely to be made soon. Two to three consultants are being appointed in the first round which will be announced after the increase in the Punjab government.
