Patiala: Punjab Police have arrested four persons in connection with the shooting incident during Patiala violence and recovered one pistol, used in the incident, and a live cartridge from their possession. In this incident one person named Balwinder Singh was injured.
In a press communique issued here today, Patiala Senior Superintendent of Police Deepak Pareek said that accused who have been arrested on the basis of camera footage, have been identified as Husanpreet Singh @ Husan, Nimesh @ Nishu, Yasdev @ Yada and Kushal. The accused, who have been named on the basis of all the solid evidences, have sent in judicial custody, he added.
The SSP said, on the basis of the camera footage investigated by Special Investigating Team (SIT) and other proofs pertaining to the violence, which took place on April 29, 2022 at Sri Kali Mata Mandir Complex Patiala, a case No.72 dated 29th April, 2022 under section 307, 323, 506, 148, 149 of the IPC and sections 25, 27/54/59 of Arms Act was registered at Kotwali Police Station Patiala.
In a case No.76 dated 30.04 2022 under section 295-A, 153-A, 452, 380, 427, 504, 147, 148, 149 of the IPC and Section 3 of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act 1984, has been registered at Kotwali Police Station Patiala in which accused Balwinder Singh has been arrested, who was admitted to the hospital for further treatment. The SIT has also arrested Princepal Singh, accused in same case No.76, on the basis of the investigation.
