One more case of monkeypox in Delhi, tally rise to 14

New Delhi: A woman from Nigeria has been found infected with Monkeypox in Delhi. With this, there have been a total of nine cases of monkeypox in the capital. The total number of infected in India has increased to 14. The woman infected with monkeypox virus is 30 years old.

According to the information, the woman was admitted to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital (LNJP) Hospital in Delhi and her test report came today.

Another suspected patient of Nigerian origin was also admitted to a government hospital on Sunday. Their test report is awaited. The eighth case of monkeypox was found in Delhi on Friday. The managing director of Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital (LNJP) had on Friday confirmed the 8th case of monkeypox in Delhi.

He had said that a woman was admitted two days ago, her report came on Friday in which she was found infected. This woman is also from Nigeria. Of the monkeypox cases found in Delhi so far, one was An Indian and the rest are of African origin. The new monkeypox patient has no recent travel history. The first case of monkeypox was reported in Delhi on July 24.

After the new cases found in Delhi on Monday, there are now 14 cases of monkeypox in India.

Of these, nine cases have been reported from Delhi and five from Kerala. Out of the total cases in Delhi, five patients have been cured. A patient from Kerala died of monkeypox. The first case of monkeypox in the country was found in Kerala.
