New Delhi: Reacting to summons issued to former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik by the CBI, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that he has been called for questioning for the third time as per the need for investigation.
The summons issued by the CBI have nothing to do with the allegations levelled by Satya Pal Malik against the BJP government.
Amit Shah further said that the BJP government has not done anything that needs to be hidden from the general public. If certain comments are made for personal, political gains, they should be treated the same way.
“As far as I know, he is being called for questioning for the second or third time. An investigation is going on, in which if any new information or evidence comes out, then it is questioned.”
He said that in this connection, he has been summoned for questioning for the third time. There is no truth in the fact that he has been summoned for speaking against the government.
“My question is why his soul did not wake up when he was governor? What is the credibility of such a statement will be examined by the general public and journalists… If there is any truth in what he is saying, why was he silent at that time… All these things are not meant to be debated in a public forum. I want to tell the people of this country that the BJP government has not done anything that we need to hide.”
On April 22, the CBI had sent a notice to former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik. In its notice, the CBI has asked him to join the interrogation in connection with the corruption case. The CBI is likely to question Satya Pal Malik on April 27 and 28 at a guest house on Akbar Road.
