New Delhi: India’s Nikhat Zareen and Lovlina Borgohain won gold medals at the Boxing World Championships here. Here’s K.D. Nikhat Zareen won the light flyweight title by defeating Asian champion Nguyen Thi Tam of Vietnam 5-0 in the final of the 50 kg weight category at the Jadhav Indoor Hall. On the other hand, two-time bronze medallist Lovlina Borgohain won her maiden world title in the 75kg category by defeating Australia’s Caitlin Parker 5-2, while this is the second world title for women’s boxer Nikhat Zareen.
Nikhat Zareen has become the second Indian boxer to win this prestigious title twice after MC Mary Kom.
