New Delhi: The Modi cabinet took several important decisions on Wednesday. After the Cabinet meeting, Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur said that the government will strengthen cooperative societies.
A target has been set to set up two lakh Primary Agricultural Cooperative Credit Societies (PAC)/Dairy/Fisheries Cooperative Societies in the next five years for various purposes.
He said that the Vibrant Village Program has been approved by the Modi government to strengthen the country’s borders.
Under this, infrastructure will be developed in villages situated on the northern borders of the country. Rs 4800 crore has been allocated for this.
Thakur said that roads and other infrastructure will be strengthened in 2966 villages in a total of 19 districts of Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh.
This will be different from the Border Area Development Program. The Union Minister said that the entire expenditure will be borne by the Central Government.
