Massive gathering of devotees at Fatehgarh Sahib, Akal Takht Jathedar calls upon the nation to be aware of divisive forces

Chandigarh: A three-day annual Shaheedi Sabha was held at the historic and holy shrine of Sri Fatehgarh Sahib in memory of the martyrdom of Baba Zorawar Singh, Baba Fateh Singh and Mata Gujar Kaur, the younger sahibzadas of 10th Sikh Guru Gobind Singh Ji.

From the historic Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, the Nagar Kirtan started in the morning under the leadership of Panj Pyaras after offering prayers by the Head Granthi of Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib Bhai Harpal Singh and taking hukamnama from the Head Granthi of Sri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar, Giani Jagtar Singh. Akal Takht Acting Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami were also present on the occasion.

Head Granthi Bhai Harpal Singh prayed for the completion of Shaheedi Sabha and Shaheedi Nagar Kirtan at Gurdwara Sri Jyoti Saroop Sahib, while Head Granthi of Sachkhand Sri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar Giani Jagtar Singh delivered the hukamnama.

A special siren was also sounded by the district administration during the ardas so that all the sangats involved in the Shaheedi Sabha could pay homage and respect to the great martyrs with complete concentration.

On this occasion, Acting Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Giani Harpreet Singh, while giving a message to the nation, called upon the Sikh community to stay aware of the divisive forces and make a hue and cry to stop the water and brain of Punjab from becoming a ‘drain’. Earlier, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami thanked the sangat and said that this day is the day of martyrdom of sahibzadas.
