New Delhi: The successful launch of the country’s first privately developed rocket ‘Vikram-S’ from its epicenter in Sriharikota took place at exactly 11.30 am today. Vikram-S went up to an altitude of 89.5 km after launch and met all the standards. It carries three payloads.
Preparations were already made for the first launch of four-year-old start-up Skyroot Aerospace’s Vikram-S rocket. This is the entry of the private sector into the country’s space industry.
Skyroot Aerospace, the startup that developed the Vikram-S rocket, announced in a tweet, “Launched! Vikram-S has created history as India’s first private rocket to beautify the sky. We thank you all for being with us on this important occasion,” ISRO announced on Twitter. Congratulations.”
