Jalandhar: Rural police on Friday held a notorious gangster smuggler and recovered two pistols including one .30 bore pistol along with 3 live cartridges and one .32 bore pistol along with 10 live cartridges from his possession here.
The police have also seized Rs 7.90 lakh illicit money and a Breeza car ( PB 90-4747) from his possession.
The accused has been identified as Amit Kumar of Subhana village.
A case under section 25 Arms Act has been registered at Maqsudan police station.
Sub-inspector Pushap Bali said that this gangster is a history-sheeter and facing around six criminal cases including robbery and an attempt to murder. He was released from Nabha jail in 2019.
“He was an active member of Pancham gang and has committed numerous crime with the gang. Further investigation is underway,” he said.
