Former Minister Balbir Sidhu joins probe at Vigilance office in disproportionate assets case

Chandigarh: Former Punjab minister Balbir Singh Sidhu has reached Mohali vigilance office to join the probe in the disproportionate assets case on Friday.

Speaking to the media before the appearance, he said that his entire assets are on record. But the vigilance team suspects him of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

In this regard, the investigation team has also prepared answers to many questions. Former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi is also to be questioned by the vigilance team today in the disproportionate assets case. He will also appear at the Mohali Vigilance Office shortly. However, Channi has held a press conference and accused the AAP government of unnecessarily harassing him. He has also said that his house is on attachment.

The AAP government has already said that Channi had cited Rs 10 crore in his nomination papers for the 2022 Assembly elections. The Punjab government has also lashed out at Channi for his statement in which he has described himself as poor.

The AAP government has said that Channi has been talking about spending his own money in every program, so how is he poor.

Punjab Vigilance has also questioned Charanjit Singh Channi once in the past.
