Denmark shooting suspect held, authorities rule out terrorism

Copenhagen: The Copenhagen Police today held accused, a 22-year-old Danish male, of killing three people in a shooting at the biggest shopping mall in Field’s Scandinavia, Denmark.

The police, however, ruled out it as an act of terrorism.

Copenhagen Police Inspector Soren Thomson said the dead included a 40-year-old man and two young men.

Police officials said several others injured when a gunman opened fire in the Danish capital on Sunday afternoon. The police official said the shooter has been identified as a 22-year-old Danish resident who has been arrested.

Thomson said it did not appear that anyone else was involved in the incident, though police are investigating the matter. He said the firing is not linked to any terrorist incident. Police officials said the gunman had fired alone during the shootout.

Meanwhile, who died in the incident included a 17-year-old Danish boy, a 17-year-old girl and a 47-year-old Russian man. Of the four injured, two were from Denmark and two from Sweden, whose condition was critical due to bullet injuries but is now stable.
