New Delhi: Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) president Sonia Gandhi today took part in the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ in Delhi and walked a short distance with Rahul Gandhi.
This is the second time that former party president Sonia Gandhi has participated in the padayatra that began from Kanyakumari in September. She had earlier participated in the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ in Karnataka in October.
On this occasion, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also joined the yatra. The ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ arrived in Delhi from Haryana this morning and was accorded a warm welcome by party leaders and workers at the Badarpur border.
Traffic jams have been reported from some parts of Delhi due to the yatra. The journey will halt near the Red Fort in the evening.
