CM Mann’s ultimatum to protesting PCS officers, join duty by 2pm today or face suspension

Chandigarh: The Punjab Civil Services Officers and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann have come face to face over the strike by government officers over vigilance action.

Stating that his government had zero tolerance against corruption, the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has written a letter to the striking officers, asking them to report for duty by 2 pm today. The government has warned of suspension of officers if they failed to comply with the orders. Chief Minister Mann has termed the strike of PCS officers as illegal.

“The strike by the officers against the state government’s anti-corruption drive is absolutely wrong,” he said in a letter.

Meanwhile, due to the mass leave by PCS officers, the work in the offices almost came to a standstill. The office looked completely deserted. The mass leave of PCS officers caused panic among the people and many people were seen going back without getting work done.

The Punjab PCS Association has been protesting against the arrest of RTA Narinder Singh by the Vigilance Bureau. Due to this, PCS officers and many other departments officials across the state had declared a mass holiday for 5 days from Monday.
