Honolulu: At least 36 people were injured including 20 taken to emergency rooms, on Sunday after a “severe turbulence” on a flight from Phoenix to Honolulu on Sunday, authorities said.
Emergency Medical Services said in a statement that several 12 people were hospitalized in critical condition and eight others were also hospitalized, but their condition was stable.
According to the statement, a call was received at 11:00 a.m. about injuries to passengers on an Airlines flight coming from Phoenix.
The medical staff treated 36 people on the spot and 20 of them were admitted to the hospital for treatment. Passenger Kelly Reyes told media that her mother was sitting in the plane and couldn’t fasten her safety seat belt when the plane lost balance due to bad weather.
