Chandigarh: Senior Congress leader and Congress candidate from Qadian constituency Partap Singh Bajwa said that he has conveyed to the Congress high command that announcing chief minister face would damage the party base ahead of the crucial Punjab Assembly Elections. Bajwa said the party may have to bear the brunt of it if the Congress announces its CM face before the elections.
Bajwa’s statement comes exactly a day after former party president Rahul Gandhi is set to announce the CM face of Punjab.
While Navjot Sidhu inclined to be party’s face for the elections, incumbent CM Charanjit Channi is in the fray of the competition.
