New Delhi: India has requested the Nepal government not to allow fugitive radical separatist Amritpal Singh to flee to any third country and arrest him if he tries to escape using an Indian passport or any other fake passport.
This information has been given in a report published in local media on Monday. Amritpal is believed to be hiding in Nepal.
The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu, in a letter to the Department of Commercial Services on Saturday, requested various government agencies here to arrest Amritpal if he tries to flee Nepal, the Kathmandu Post newspaper reported. “Singh is currently hiding in Nepal,” the paper said, citing a letter.
The newspaper claimed to have a copy of the letter in its possession.
“The ministry is requested to inform the immigration department that Amritpal Singh should not be allowed to travel to any third country through Nepal and arrest him if he tries to flee Nepal using an Indian passport or any other fake passport as per the information of this mission,” the paper said.”
