Chandigarh: A gangster has been killed during an encounter between gangsters and police near village Bhakna on Gharinda-Hushiyar Nagar road here on Wednesday.
The police have cordoned off all the routes leading to and from the village and firing is on between the two sides.
The gangsters, identified as Manpreet Mannu and Jagrup Roopa, are said to be involved in the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.
They were hiding outside the village here and the police had received information about it. Today when the police cordoned off the area to control them the gangsters opened fire after which the police also opened fire.
The police are silent on this at the moment and no official is willing to reveal anything. The anti-gangster task force, special operations cell and other police personnel are involved in the police encounter.
