Chandigarh: Former Punjab Chief Minister and veteran SAD leader Parkash Singh Badal has been shifted from Muktsar district to Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh on Saturday.
His health was suddenly deteriorated on Saturday morning following which he was admitted in PGI. He was experiencing chest congestion, said an Akali leader. His condition is stable at present.
Last month, Badal had tested positive for COVID-19 and remained admitted for a few days at DMC, Ludhiana.
The 94-year-old Akali Dal patron is contesting elections from his home turf Lambi constituency, which he has been winning from the Lambi seat since 1997.
Badal is the country’s oldest candidate to fight elections.
