Washington: Two people have been injured in a firing incident at a gurdwara in the US state of California. Authorities have denied linking the incident to a “hate crime”.
According to Sergeant Amar Gandhi, a spokesman for the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting took place at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Gurdwara Sacramento Sikh Society. The incident took place during the first Nagar Kirtan at the gurdwara.
According to a media report, Mr Gandhi said there was a fight between two men at the gurdwara. One shot the other’s friend. The second person involved in the fight then shot the man who shot his friend. After this, he fled. Both the men are admitted to the hospital and their condition is out of danger.
